This page is a summary of how we work. Each hire is confirmed in a written quotation and order confirmation, which take priority over this page if they differ.

Quotes and orders

Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise and depend on equipment availability at the time of order. A hire is confirmed once we've accepted your purchase order or written confirmation.

Hire period and charges

Hire is charged per day, and the day equipment leaves our premises counts as day one. Hire continues until the equipment is returned to us or to an agreed location. Transport, consumables, personnel and repairs beyond fair wear and tear are charged separately unless included in the quote. Prices exclude VAT.

Your responsibilities

While equipment is on hire you are responsible for its safe use by competent people, for keeping it secure, and for loss or damage beyond fair wear and tear. Please tell us promptly about any fault and don't modify equipment without our agreement. We recommend you hold suitable insurance for hired equipment.

Our responsibilities

We supply equipment in good working order and, where stated, with relevant test certificates. Our liability is limited to the value of the hire charges for the equipment concerned, except where the law doesn't allow liability to be limited (for example death or personal injury caused by negligence). We aren't liable for indirect losses such as vessel standby, lost production or lost profit.

Payment

Unless agreed otherwise, invoices are payable within 30 days of the invoice date.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction.
